The Signal's best contemporary music albums of 2011

colinstetson.jpgIt's that time of the year when all good radio shows put together their "best of" lists. In fact, CBC Radio 2 is in the midst of voting for the Top 50 Artists of 2011.

That list includes many artists getting play on Radio 2 Morning and Drive. You have until midnight on December 19th to weigh in: VOTE FOR CBC RADIO'S TOP 50 ARTISTS HERE.

Meanwhile, here at The Signal we have a slightly different list. In fact there's a long list of albums we're mulling over, but we'd also love to get your suggestions. What did you hear on the show that you figure deserves a spot on our year end list of favourites?

Here's our preliminary list, in no particular order:

James Blake - James Blake

Penelope - Sarah Kirkland Snider, Shara Worden and company

Strange Mercy - St. Vincent

Creep on Creepin' On - Timber Timbre

Coasting Notes - Three Metre Day

History of Warfare Volume II - Judges - Colin Stetson

Over to you - what would you want to see on this list?

Thanks for playing,

Laurie
