What is Rendez-Vous?

Each episode of Rendez-Vous is a meeting of two musicians from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, who come together to create and perform in a spirit of sharing and exploration.

Held in the comfortable and intimate setting of CBC Montreal's studio 12, these innovative encounters were conceived to create an exchange where music is the common language. Each of our Rendez-Vous sessions offers a sincere and authentic, human and artistic experience.

Discover these exclusive recordings including original compositions, duets, and covers, all performed with true creativity and verve.

Round Two of Rendez-Vous will be heard on CBC Radio 2 every Tuesday at 8 :30 pm from April 24 until May 29, 2012.

Rendez-Vous sessions: preview what's coming up!

The second round of Rendez-Vous is in the making and you will soon be able to hear and see unique pairings of musicians in CBC Montreal's Studio 12, performing each other's music as well as a brand new song created for this series.

This year, we bring together world music artists with francophone and anglophone singer songwriters. You'll get to hear these very special musical encounters in 2012.

Episode 1: Le Vent du Nord and Harry Manx

For this Rendez-Vous, world renowned  traditional Quebec band meets Harry Manx, a blues singer with a unique style. Together, they transformed each other's music by simply being themselves.
