Yannick Nezet Seguin Giveaway
A recent Tempo post, The Hottest Artist On The Classical Music Planet, inspired some lively discussion. Some suggesting who should be on the short list of "hotness," and some raising interesting points about the definition of hotness -- musical peak? Marketing? Looks good in a tux?
But whatever combination of talent and luck and marketing is involved, there are a certain number of classical musicians who are indisputably most in the public eye. And some of them are brilliant.
For instance Canada's Yannick Nezet Seguin, who brings his new European band, The Rotterdam Philharmonic, home for an Eastern Canadian tour later this month.
And leaving questions of hotness aside for a moment, here's the main point: Tempo listeners have the opportunity to win a CD or concert tickets today -- Julie is doing a giveaway every hour of the show. Which is, when you think about it, pretty hot stuff.
