What Blue Rodeo Can't Leave Behind -- Vinyl!

ThethingsweleftbehindThe opening: orchestrated dramatic tympani, piano, cello, mellotron flute...possibly your next thought is not Blue Rodeo -- but that is the sound of the gorgeous intro to The Things We Left Behind. What they're leaving behind is some great music -- sixteen new songs by Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor.

We streamed it all last week, thanks to the band and Warner Music Canada. Now that stream is down but you can still buy the album at iTunes.

What Blue Rodeo can't leave behind is vinyl. The Things We Left Behind is a double, gate-fold sleeve vinyl release. Why?

Jim Cuddy says: "I'm becoming more of a vinyl-phile and more and more is becoming available all of the time, which is great. How to split it up – is a B-side heavier, or more sleepy, or whatever -- is a very enjoyable little conundrum for us to try to figure out."
