Radio 2 Morning (6 am to 10 am on Radio 2)
Tom Allen spends some time talking to musicians about teachers who influenced them in their decision to follow careers in music. In hour 3, Melanie Doane talks about learning from her music teacher father. In hour 4, Tom is joined by Jim and Andy Creeggan. They talk about Cathy Fraser Collins, a teacher from their high school years who inspired both of them with her energy and passion for music.
Tempo (10 am to 3 pm on Radio 2)
The Cantiamo Girls' Choir will stop by Studio 40 in Ottawa, on their way to Parliament Hill. They will perform "Sing Sing" for 1:00 (Halifax Time).
Radio 2 Drive (3 pm to 6 pm on Radio 2)
Radio 2 Drive, with guest host Kelly Cutrara, features some all-in-the-family musical pairings, such as Matthew Barber and Jill Barber, Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright and Justin Townes Earle and Steve Earle. Plus, Kelly talks to Alex Cuba about the music education programmes he grew up with in Cuba.
Tonic (6 pm to 8 pm on Radio 2)
Tonic is going to focus attention on singer Dionne Taylor and pianist Oliver Jones. Oliver will be mentoring Dionne for the next year as part of the mentorship program offered by the Governor General's office. Katie Malloch will be in Ottawa to announce this award at the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards ceremony and will present to Dionne and Oliver on stage.
Canada Live (8 pm to 10 pm Radio 2)
Hosted by Wab Kinew, Canada Live will feature jazz, world, singer-songwriter/pop, aboriginal musicians and a few short classical segments for Music Monday.
The Littlebirds Big Band at The Yardbird Suite, Edmonton: The Littlebirds Big Band started in 1989 as part of an education program run by the Edmonton Jazz Society at their home venue, the Yardbird Suite. Directed by professional musician Joel Gray, the Littlebirds is comprised of Junior High and High School students.
As well, excerpts from Sir Ken Robinson's speech at the Glenn Gould Studio on April 26th will be featured.

Featuring some dazzling musical performances from Juno-Award winning jazz saxophonist, Jane Bunnett, 21 year old piano prodigy Alexander Seredenko, 12 year old violinist Bora Kim, singer/songwriters Dala along with students from Unionville High School.
The evening will be recorded by CBC Radio 2 and excerpted throughout Radio 1 and Radio 2 programming on Music Monday (May 4th, 2009) when CBC shines the spotlight on music, education and children.
