CBC Radio 2 celebrated the life of Glenn Gould from September 25 through to October 4, 2007. These dates were significant; September 25 would have marked Gould’s 75th birthday, while October 4 marks the 25th anniversary of his death.
IF Gould took an unexpected approach to music, then CBC Radio 2 celebrated his life and music by taking an unexpected approach to Gould’s music. In short, CBC created a series of variations on Gould.
Many believe that Glenn Gould had one of the most truly unique musical minds of all times. At times, however, he was known as much for his eccentricities as for his music making. Twenty-five years after his death, his recordings continue to sell.
Today, as during his own lifetime, Gould generates as much controversy as he does veneration with new books and documentaries on Gould continue to materialize years after his death.

documentaries. As Gould stated, “My career was spawned in a radio studio.” and “I’m devoted to radio. It’s home for me.” CBC Radio will be presenting a
fascinating week-long discovery into Gould’s music and CBC Records will be releasing two new box sets entitled: Glenn Gould: the Radio Artist and Glenn
