The CBC/McGill Concert Series presents its annual Youth Choir Gala. Guest conductor Douglas Dunsmore leads three Montreal choirs -- the McGill Conservatory Youth Choir, the English Montreal School Board Senior Chorale and Les Voix Boréales - who together sing a collection of holiday songs perfect for snuggling up to on a wintry day. Soprano Shannon Mercer and harpist Valérie Milot add their sparkle to these pure young voices.
This 9th edition brings the project out of the concert hall and into Studio 12 at the Maison de Radio-Canada. This exclusive CBC recording session features excerpts from Dancing Day by John Rutter, as well as the luminous Pentatonic Alleluia by Ross Whitney and the tender Sweet was the Song by Toronto composer Derek Holman.
