Calgary's Karl Roth has been performing for audiences for 30 years, entertaining with his distinctive jazz violin playing and gravelly singing voice. He also knows how to make an audience laugh.
For this concert at Saskatoon Bassment Club, Karl was joined by a talented bunch of guys. Karl brought along his hometown collaborator Dave Hamilton who has won Alberta Instrumentalist of the Year three times. Veteran Saskatoon jazz bassist and great friend of Karl's - Skip Kutz - joined the group, too. Rounding out the band are drummer Don Tatchell and keyboard player Ross Nykiforuk.
Karl Roth's easy going, playful manner and vast song book of old jazz, blues and swing favorites endeared to him all. This Saskatoon Jazz Society concert had the energetic audience laughing, clapping and humming along. We're sure you will be, too.
