Halifax rocker Joel Plaskett has just released his latest CD "Three," aptly titled, as it is a triple CD release in one package. Collectively, the album is a song cycle that chronicles a working musician dealing with the joys and traumas of life.
Broken
romance, old high school friendships that have subsided and moved into awkward
encounters, lost loved ones, and simple, quirky moments of everyday life are
all delivered in what long-time fans will recognize as Plaskett's signature
style, progressions, and rhythms.
CBC Radio 2 caught up with Joel at concert number four of a
cross-Canada tour in support of his new CD at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton,
NB. It was in an unusual and special
setting, an all-acoustic concert with his dad Bill Plaskett and vocalists Rose
Cousins and Anna Egge.
