In her novel "Life After Life" Kate Atkinson kills off her main character, Ursula, again, and again, and again. And with each incarnation we're completely engaged in Ursula's story.

Eleanor spoke with Kate Atkinson about her novel Life After Life on-stage at Harbourfront in Toronto. And, even though Atkinson says she doesn't like him as much as other women do, they also talk about her detective, Jackson Brodie.

"I think there's a problem with having a happy childhood because everything's a disappointment.  If you have a very happy childhood, adulthood must be an awful struggle." - Kate Atkinson
