Several critics have been arguing that the government's new anti-terrorism legislation  lacks new oversight mechanisms. The government's response to that has included what they refer to as "judicial oversight." John Major is a retired Supreme Court Justice. He was part of a group former Prime Ministers, Supreme Court judges and Justice Ministers that publicly criticized the government's bill.
