Quebecois singer-songwriter Beatrice Martin, a.k.a. Coeur de Pirate, is no stranger to the q studio — but she sounds more at ease than ever as she shares songs and stories from her upcoming fifth record, Roses.

It's ironic, perhaps, considering what a shift this album marks for her. It's her first bilingual release, and the transition to writing in English made her so nervous that she had a friend proofread her lyrics.

Luckily, that hesitation is nowhere to be found when listening to the beautiful new songs. She opens up to guest host Tom Power about how she's evolved over the years, both as a songwriter and as a person.
