In 1985, LIB JEAN-PAUL THEORET defeated PQ RODRIGUE by 1,409 votes. Resigned on May 23, 1989 - Defeated as candidate for Mayor of Laval in 1989.
In 1989, LIB BENOIT FRADET defeated PQ DAVID CLICHE by 583 votes.
In 1994, PQ DAVID CLICHE ran again and defeated LIB FRADET by 128 votes. Appointed Minister of Environment and Wildlife and Minister resposible for Laval region, Jan. 29, 1996; Minister of State for Tourism, Aug. 25, 1997.
In 1998, PQ CLICHE defeated LIB FRANCOIS MACEROLA by 1,853 votes. Dec. 15, 1998 - March 8, 2001 - Minister responsible for Information Highway; Government Services March 8, 2001 - Jan. 29, 2002 - Minister for Science, Research and Technology. Resigned the night before the Cabinet shuffle.
