In 2001 redistribution:

  • kept 91% of riding; 9% moved to Johnson;

  • lost to Shefford, area from north containing Roxton Pond, Saint-Joachim-de-Shefford parish and the township of Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton (4698 electors).


    Political History:

  • LIB RICHARD VERREAULT won in 1973 and 1976; defeated in 1981.

  • PQ ROGER PARE won in 1981, 1985 and 1989.

  • In by-el held on Feb. 28, 1994, LIB BERNARD BRODEUR defeated PQ ROGER NICOLET by 4,132 votes.

  • In 1994, LIB BRODEUR defeated PQ JEAN-MARC SAVOIE by 1,323 votes.

  • In 1998, LIB BRODEUR defeated PQ RENÉ MAROIS by 73 votes.
