Saint-Henri Sainte-Anne contains that part of Montreal bounded by: the boundary of Montreal and Westmount, Rue Saint-Antoine Ouest, Rue McGill, Rue de la Commune Ouest, Bonaventure Autoroute (10), the Victoria Bridge, the St. Lawrence River, the boundary of the borough of Montreal with the towns of Verdun and LaSalle, the Lachine Canal, Décarie Autoroute (15) and the Ville-Marie Autoroute (720).

Redistribution:
Riding created in 1992 redistribution from all of Saint-Henri riding and part of Sainte-Anne riding.

In 2001 redistribution:

  • kept 100% of riding; added 15% of Westmount-Saint-Louis;

  • gained, from Westmount-Saint-Louis, in NW, that part of Montreal bounded by: Rue Saint-Antoine Ouest, Rue McGill, Rue de la Commune Ouest, Bonaventure Autoroute, the Lachine Canal, Atwater Avenue (7,811 electors).

  • PQ JACQUES COUTURE won in 1976 -- served as Minister of Immigration and Minister of Labour and Manpower. Couture resigned from Cabinet on Nov. 6 1980. Quit as MNA Jan. 30, 1981 (He did not want to remain after the loss of the referendum)

  • LIB ROMA HAINS won in 1981 and 1985.

  • In 1989, LIB NICOLE LOISELLE defeated PQ FRANCINE LALONDE by 479 votes (Lalonde is now BQ MP).

    SAINTE-ANNE

  • LIB GEORGE SPRINGATE was elected in 1970 and 1973. Springate ran in Westmount in 1976.

  • PQ JEAN-MARC LACOSTE won in 1976. LIB MAXIMILIEN POLAK won in 1981 and 1985.

  • LIB NORMAND CHERRY won in 1989. Cherry was appointed Minister for Cultural Communities, Oct. 1989; Minister of Labour, Oct. 1990; Minister of Transport, January 11, 1994. Johnson designated Cherry as candidate for 1994 in St-Laurent.
