Riding created in 1972 from parts of Sherbrooke, Compton and Richmond.
In redistribution before 1989 election, lost part of riding to Orford. In 1992 redistribution, lost areas to Sherbrooke and Mégantic-Compton.
In 2001 redistribution:
kept 88% of riding; 1% moved to Johnson, 1% to Mégantic-Compton; 1% to Orford; 11% to Sherbrooke;
gained 9% of Orford and gained 1% of Mégantic-Compton;
