Robert-Baldwin contains that part of Montreal bounded by: the rivière des Prairies, the boundary of the borough of Pierrefonds  with the boroughs  of Montreal and Saint-Laurent, the boundary of Dollard-des-Ormeaux with the boroughs of Saint-Laurent, Dorval, Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Pierrefonds, Saint John's  Boulevard, Pierrefonds Boulevard,  Sources Boulevard and its extension.

Redistribution
Riding created in 1965 from part of Jacques-Cartier riding.

In redistribution before 1989 election, moved 10,081 electors to
Nelligan; kept 78.32% of old riding.

In 1992 Redistribution, gained part of Nelligan riding.

No change in 2001 redistribution.

  • In 1973, LIB JEAN COURNOYER defeated PQ SERGE BRODEUR by 21,106 votes. Cournoyer had won as UN in 1969 byelection in St-Jacques; defeated in 1970; elected as Liberal in byelection in Chambly on Feb. 8, 1971. Minister of Labour and Manpower, Oct. 29, 1970-1975; added Minister of Civil Service, 1972; appointed Minister of Natural Resources, 1975. Cournoyer ran in Richelieu in 1976 and was defeated

  • LIB JOHN O'GALLAGHER won in 1976 and 1981.

  • In 1985, LIB PIERRE MACDONALD defeated PQ MICHELLE DOZOIS by 22,368 votes. Appointed Minister of External Trade and Minister of Technological Development, Dec. 1985. Minister of Industry, Commerce and Technological Development, July 6, 1988. MacDonald remembered for "damned fat English lady" quote.

  • In 1989, LIB SAM ELKAS defeated EP ADRIAN WALLER by 1,384 votes. Appointed Minister of Transport & Public Security, 1989; Minister of Transport Oct. 5, 1990 - Jan. 11, 1994. After being nominated, Elkas, on July 20, 1994 said he had decided to give a younger candidate a chance.

  • In 1994, LIB PIERRE MARSAN defeated PQ NICOLAS TETRAULT by 26,324 votes.

  • In 1998, LIB MARSAN defeated PQ ANDRÉ ALLARD by 28,208 votes.
