Redistribution:
Riding created before 1989 election from: 26.92% ANJOU; 12.34% BOURGET; 40.15% LAFONTAINE.
No change in redistribution before 1994 election.
In 2001 redistribution:
kept 61% of riding; 39% moved to Bourget; gained 32% of LaFontaine;

In 1989, PQ MICHEL BOURDON defeated LIB JEAN TONDREAU by 1,757 votes.
In 1994, PQ BOURDON defeated LIB JOSE SIMON by 6,034 votes. On June 18, 1996, Bourdon, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, announced his retirement from politics. He gave no reason.
In Dec. 9, 1996 byelection, PQ NICOLE LÉGER defeated LIB BERNARD LAUZON by 1,956. Appointed Minister for Child and Family Welfare, Sept. 23, 1998.
