Minister of State for Social Development., Minister responsible for Handicapped Persons, 1981; Minister responsible for Citizens Relations in Sept 1982. One of "Group of 12", who quit Cabinet and National Assembly on Dec. 4, 1984, after Levesque's statement that sovereignty should not be an issue in next election (Article 1 of PQ Constitution)

In byelection on June 3, 1985, LIB ROBERT BOURASSA defeated PQ FRANCINE LALONDE by 5,273 votes.

In 1985, PQ JEAN-GUY PARENT defeated LIB BOURASSA by 229 votes. Parent was Minister of International Trade from Oct. to Dec. 1985 (before election)
