Lévis riding contains that part of the city of Lévis corresponding to the following municipalities as they existed up until December 31, 2001: Lévis, Pintendre, Saint-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-de-Lévy and Saint-Romuald.
Redistribution:
After redistribution before 1989 election, riding consisted of 54.15% of LEVIS and 11.45% of BEAUCE-NORD -- 24,280 electors moved from Lévis to Chutes-de-la-Chaudière.
No change in redistribution before 1994 election.
In 2001 redistribution:
kept 85% of riding; 15% moved to Bellechasse;
added 15% of Chutes-de-la-Chaudière
lost to Bellechasse, from south - Municipalité de Saint-Henri (2,947 electors);
gained from Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, in north - Saint-Romuald (8,552 electors)

In 1976, PQ JEAN GARON defeated LIB CHAGNON by 5,887 votes. Minister of Agriculture, Nov. 1976; Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Sept 1979.
In 1981 PQ GARON was re-elected in 1981, 1985 and 1989. Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Sept. 1982
In 1994, PQ GARON defeated LIB JEAN-PIERRE CORRIVEAU by 12,937 votes. Minister of Education, Sept 26/94-Jan 29/96. Garon announced on Aug. 18, 1998 that he would be running for Mayor of Lévis in November 1998.
