LA PRAIRIE

In 1973, LIB PAUL BERTHIAUME, who had been elected in Napierville Laprairie in 1970, won in this new riding.

In 1976, PQ GILLES MICHAUD defeated LIB BERTHIAUME by 647 votes.

In 1981, LIB JEAN-PIERRE SAINTONGE defeated PQ MICHAUD by 328 votes.

In 1985, LIB SAINTONGE defeated PQ ESTELLE LAFONTAINE by 9,968. Saintonge ran in La Piniere in 1989.

LA PINIERE

In 1989, LIB JEAN-PIERRE SAINTONGE, incumbent from La Prairie, ran in this new riding and defeated PQ CHRISTIANE LAFONTAINE by 6,985 votes. Saintonge appointed Speaker November 28, 1989.

In 1994, LIB FATIMA HOUDA-PEPIN defeated PQ ANDRE KAHLE by 10,057 votes.

In 1998, LIB HOUDA-PEPIN defeated PQ MARIA TERESA PÉREZ-HUDON by 11,736 votes.
