In 1989, PQ BRASSARD defeated LIB PIERRE GIMAIEL by 3,623 votes. (Gimaïel had been elected MP in 1980; defeated in 1984 in Lac-St-Jean)
In 1994, PQ BRASSARD defeated LIB DENIS SIMARD by 13,474 votes. In 1998, PQ BRASSARD defeated LIB NOEL GIRARD by 15,706 votes. Government House Leader, Minister responsible for Parliamentary Reform to Jan. 29, 2002.
