Jacques-Cartier contains that part of Montreal corresponding to the following municipalities as they existed up until December 31, 2001: Baie-d'Urfé, Beaconsfield, Pointe-Claire and Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.

It also contains that part of Montréal corresponding to the parts of the town of Kirkland situated to the south-east of a line made up of the Félix-Leclerc Autoroute (40), Chemin Ste-Marie, St-Charles Boulevard and Hymus Boulevard.

Redistribution:

In redistribution before 1989 election, kept 75.98% JACQUES-CARTIER and added 28.45% NELLIGAN.
No change in redistribution before 1994 election.

in 2001 redistribution:

  • kept 72% of riding; 28% moved to Marquette; added 20% of Nelligan;

  • lost to Marquette - eastern part of the riding which includes Dorval and I'île-Dorval (13,849 electors)

  • gained from Nelligan: Baie-d Urfé and Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue and parts of the town of Kirkland bounded as follows: a) Félix-Leclerc autoroute (40), Chemin Ste-Marie and border of Kirkland and Beaconsfield; b) Chemin Ste-Marie, St-Charles Boulevard, Hymus Boulevard and border of Kirkland with Pointe-Claire and Beaconsfield (12,388 electors)

  • In 1989, EP NEIL CAMERON defeated LIB DOUGHERTY by 802 votes.

  • In 1994, LIB GEOFF KELLEY defeated PQ MAURICE CREPEAU by 29,398 votes. EP CAMERON was third.

  • In 1998, LIB KELLEY defeated PQ GUY AMYOT by 29,609.
