  • kept 100% of existing riding; gained .2% of Gatineau; added, in NW, one poll that part of Hull that had been in Gatineau riding (167 electors)

  • LIB OSWALD PARENT won in 1956, 1960, 1962, 1966, 1970, 1973. Min of State, 1970-72; appointed Minister of State/Intergovernmental Affairs, Feb. 1971; Minister of State/Civil Service, 1972-73; Minister of State/Finance, 1971-75.

  • In 1976, PQ JOCELYNE OUELLETTE defeated LIB PARENT by 2 votes. Appointed Minister of Public Works and Supply, July 1977.

  • In 1981, LIB GILLES ROCHELEAU defeated PQ OUELLETTE by 456 votes. (Rocheleau had been defeated as UN candidate in Gatineau in 1970) In 1985, LIB ROCHELEAU defeated PQ GILLES MORAIS by 7,434 votes. Minister responsible of Supply and Services, 1985.(Rocheleau resigned in 1988 to run federally as Liberal. He switched to BQ and was defeated in 1993 election)

  • In byelectionon May 29, 1989, LIB ROBERT LESAGE defeated PQ PAUL LEMAIRE. In 1989, LIB LESAGE defeated PQ MARCEL VILLENEUVE by 4,546 votes. In 1994, LIB LESAGE defeated PQ MICHEL LEGERE by 5,237 votes.
