Dubuc contains the following municipalities: Bégin, Ferland-et-Boilleau, L'Anse-Saint-Jean, Petit-Saguenay, Rivière-Éternité, Saint-Ambroise, Saint-Charles-de-Bourget, Saint-David-de-Falardeau, Saint-Félix-d'Otis, Saint-Fulgence, Saint-Honoré and Sainte-Rose-du-Nord.

It also contains the town of Saguenay except for the towns of Chicoutimi and Jonquière and the Municipalité de Lac-Kénogami as they existed up until February 17, 2002.

Redistribution:
Riding created before 1966 election from parts of Chicoutimi and Jonquière-Kénogami.

Minor changes in redistributions before 1989 and 1994 elections.

In 2001 redistribution:

  • lost, from SE corner, to Charlevoix riding - Saagard (164 electors).4% of riding

    Political History:

  • In 1973, LIB GHISLAIN HARVEY defeated PQ ANDRE DESGAGNE by 4,186 votes. UN ROCH BOIVIN was third.

  • In 1976, PQ HUBERT DESBIENS defeated LIB HARVEY by 3,661 votes. PQ DESBIENS was re-elected in 1981 and 1985.

  • In 1989, PQ GERARD-R. MORIN defeated LIB ANTONIN TREMBLAY by 2,252 votes.

  • In 1994, PQ MORIN defeated LIB JEANNE LAVOIE by 9,617 votes.

  • In 1998, PQ JACQUES COTE defeated LIB CLAUDE RICHARD by 8,234 votes. Appointed Minister of Housing, Jan. 30, 2002.
