Drummond contains the following municipalities: Drummondville, Saint-Charles-de-Drummond, Saint-Edmond-de-Grantham, Saint-Eugène, Saint-Germain-de-Grantham, Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham and Saint-Nicéphore.

Redistribution:

  • In redistribution before 1989 election, lost 9% of voters to Richmond.

  • In 1992 redistribution, kept all existing and added St-Eugene polls from Johnson riding (679 electors).

    No change in 2001 redistribution.

  • In 1973, LIB ROBERT MALOUIN defeated PC MARCEL JOYAL by 6,798 votes. PQ MICHEL CLAIR won in 1976 and 1981. Appointed Minister of Revenue, Sept. 1979; appointed Minister of Transport, April 1981; appointed President of Treasury Board and Mininister Responsible for Administration and Minister responsible for the Year of the Youth, Mar. 1984; Minister of Energy & Resources, Oct. 1985.

  • In 1985, LIB JEAN-GUY ST-ROCH defeated PQ CLAIR by 102 votes. In 1989, LIB ST-ROCH defeated PQ BERNARD LOISELLE by 4,994 votes. Resigned from Liberal caucus on Sept. 3,1992 to sit as Independent.

  • In 1994, PQ NORMAND JUTRAS defeated LIB JACQUES AREL by 4,766 votes. In 1998, PQ JUTRAS defeated LIB CÉLINE LeMAIRE by 7,187 votes. Appointed Minister of Public Security, Jan 30, 2002; Appointed Minister of Justice, Oct. 29, 2002.
