LIB JEAN PAUL L'ALLIER won in 1970 and 1973. Appointed Minister of Communications, 1970; Minister of Civil Service, 1970-72;1970-76 - Responsible for Office of Franco-québécois pour la Jeunesse. Minister of Communications, 1973; Minister of Cultural Affairs, 1975-76.
In 1976, PQ PIERRE DE BELLEFEUILLE defeated LIB L'ALLIER by 2,466 votes. In 1981, PQ DE BELLEFEUILLE defeated LIB YVON BELAIR by 2,830 votes. Left PQ caucus to sit as Independent, Nov 20/84, one of several to leave after Levesque stated that sovereignty should not be an issue in the next campaign (Article 1 of PQ Constitution).
In 1985, LIB YOLANDE LEGAULT defeated PQ YVES LAUZON by 4,455 votes. PIERRE DE BELLEFEUILLE, running for PI, was third with 2,274 votes.
