Citizens in the Gaspe have not given up the fight to keep their train service going

ViaRail.cbc.ca.jpgVia Rail train service along the Gaspe Peninsula is no more. Yesterday, the last bus took passengers from Matapedia to Gaspe. That bus was replacing the former train on that route. VIA blames the condition of tracks, owned by the Societe Chemin de Fer de la Gaspesie.

But, citizens in the Gaspe have not given up the fight to keep their train service. Ann McWhirter is a Bed and Breakfast owner in in Hope, near New Carlisle. She is a member of La coalition pour l'avenir du train.
