Residents of Brome Lake oppose potential demolition of Knowlton House

Many residents of Brome Lake in the Eastern Townships are up in arms over the future of the community's oldest home. A log cabin built by Paul Holland Knowlton back in 1815 is under threat of demolition if a local golf course gets its way.

Judith Duncanson is a resident of Brome Lake, and started a petition to try and save Knowlton House.

Trombone class at Golden Valley School helps students hit high notes

val dor kids.jpgA major challenge small schools in Quebec face is that they don't have the money or the manpower to sustain a variety of extra curricular activities.

Despite those obstacles, Golden Valley School in Val-d'Or has found a way to offer its grade six students the oppoortunity to learn to play the trombone.

The CBC's Marika Wheeler went to Val-d'Or to hear students play and tells Susan about the program.
