Lower North Shore in need of a more reliable Route Blanche
Communities along the Lower North Shore are hoping to build a new route for all-terrain-vehicules. It would connect Kegaska to Blanc Sablon, all-year long. Winter travel has become particularly difficult in this part of the province.
The Route Blanche, which is open only in the winter, usually links Natashquan to Blanc Sablon. But, in recent years it has become less accessible. Warmer temperatures have forced extended closures of the route.
The Lower North Shore's Local Development Centre has ordered a feasability study for this project. We spoke to Development Agent, Patrick Burke.
