Feeding the Canada Games' athletes
Feeding thousands of athletes at large sporting events involves a fair amount of logistic challenges. When it comes to what kind of food to serve, there was one resounding element the Canada Games committee could agree on: absolutely no junk food will be served to its young participants.
Chef Michael Smith headed to the Townships this week, and stopped by the athletes village at Bishop's University to serve up some of his own favorite recipes and the importance of healthy eating.
Our Townships Reporter Alison Brunette headed out to speak with some of the ahletes about their diets and how they prepare for competitions. First she ran into the girls wrestling team from Newfoundland at one of the local ice cream shops.
