High demand for midwives in the Eastern Townships
When your children were born, was it a no-brainer to head to the hospital? It's still the way a majority of Quebecers are born. But, midwives are in demand at the Maison de Naissances in the Eastern Townships. Since they opened in Sherbrooke in the 1990's, a growing number of expecting families are having their babies with midwives.
New parents say they like the personal touch that a midwife offers, the autonomy and the minimal amount of medical intervention. Quebec AM's Sarah Rogers tell us why new parents are going natural.
