Panel discussion of proposed Charter of Quebec Values
The Parti Québécois' proposed Charter of Quebec Values was unveiled Tuesday. Its goal, according to Minister responsible for Democratic Institutions and Active Citizenship Bernard Drainville, is to clarify rules on religious accommodations and contribute to integration and social harmony.
To talk about all this, we hear Lionel Perez. He's the borough mayor for Côte-des-Neiges and wears a Jewish kippa. In Saguenay, we speak to Khadiyatoulah Fall. He holds the Chair of intercultural research at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi, and is a member of that city's mosque.
In Quebec City, we hear from Mochira Atallah, who was part of our discussion in 2010 on the wearing of Muslim head coverings.
