Increased fees for hosting music acts from abroad
Music promoters say that increased fees in the Temporary Foreign Worker program are making it harder to bring in international artists to play in bars and restaurants.
The one-time fee to enter the country for technicians, roadies and band members has increased from $150 to $450 per person, and promoters must now pay a Labour Market Opinion fee of $275.
