Free herbs and vegetables harvested in urban green spaces
The Incredible Edible movement is making its way into small urban green spaces across the province.
This European-born citizen movement involves planting herbs and vegetables in available urban green spaces; people can then pick the resulting produce and take it home, free of charge. Almost a dozen cities across the province are now taking part in the movement, and Quebec City is among them.
Allison Van Rassel walked down to La Butineuse, an organization that offers meals and snacks to disadvantaged families in Vanier. Its members have set up the first Incredible Edible green spaces in Quebec City.
