Cyclists want Quebec to adopt "Idaho Stop" legislation
Pro-bike organizations are hoping Quebec will adopt the Idaho Stop. The mid-western state has used this traffic regulation for more than 30 years, and cyclists in the province are now pushing for the implementation of the traffic law.
This would allow bike riders to go through a stop sign withouthaving to come to a complete stop, after making sure the coast is clear.
After the Montreal Bike Coalition, Velo Quebec is also expressing its support for this measure. The organization has been promoting the use of bicycles for over 45 years.
This morning we spoke with Marc Jolicoeur, research director with Vélo Quebec.
