Military community in Quebec rallies against Bill 14

martin huot.jpgEnglish schools in military communities in Quebec are rallying this week, to draw attention to a less-talked-about measure of Bill 14, the PQ government's language bill.

As we've talked about on this show, Bill 14 proposes to remove the current exemption of Quebec's language laws that allows francophone military members to send their children to English schools.

At the rally Tuesday evening at Dollard-des-Ormeaux school near the Valcartier base, CBC's Catou MacKinnon spoke with one of the parents. Coalition Avenir Québec MNA for the riding of La Peltrie Éric Caire was also there and he spoke to Susan Campbell on the phone this morning. But first, we spoke with Martin Huot who is one of the parents who was at the first rally Tuesday evening.
