Earthquake risk and safety at Gentilly-2 nuclear plant
The Quebec government will soon decide whether or not to refurbish the Gentilly-2 nuclear power plant. We'll continue our conversation about safety at the plant and the reactor's ability to withstand an earthquake.
We hear from Michel Duguay, nuclear physics professor at Laval University and member of the group Sortons le Québec du Nucléaire.
Quebec AM's Glenn Wanamaker also speaks with two members of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission: Phil Webster, acting Director General of Power Reactor Regulation, and François Rinfret, director of the Gentilly reactor.
