Industrial relations specialist Jean Sexton shares his thoughts on Duchesneau
The grilling of Jacques Duchesneau -- head of Transport Quebec's Anti-Corruption unit -- went on for 5 hours yesterday before a committee of the National Assembly. The goal of the hearing was to get Mr. Duchesneau to give more details about the web of collusion and corruption he says exists in the construction industry and in the awarding of public contracts.
Jean Sexton has been following developments. He's an industrial relations specialist and retired professor at Université Laval. He participated in the Cliche Commission -- the first public inquiry into the construction industry in the 1970's. Most recently, he was part of the commission looking into the cost overruns in the failed bid to modernize the Gaspesia paper mill.
