Is single-sex schooling detrimental?

For decades, many educators have been making arguments in favour of single-sex schooling (one of the most common arguments being that separating boys and girls can lead to greater confidence and academic achievement for each). Yet, in a report released last week, the American Civil Liberties Union found that harmful gender stereotypes are prevalent in single-sex classes.
