One more episode. Four more days.

Those words are enough to inspire heart palpitations in longtime fans of Dexter, the forensics expert/serial killer that Michael C. Hall has played since 2006.

Although many are lamenting the end of the popular show, others are already buzzing about Hall's latest project -- another look at the dark side, but from a different angle.

In Kill Your Darlings, a vivid portrait of the writers who made up the real-life Beat generation, Hall plays murder victim David Kammerer.

Hall joins Jian to discuss whether his role as a fictional murderer helped him play a sympathetic victim, how death has been a constant in his real life, and what we can all learn from our "shadow side".

Kill Your Darlings also stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young Allen Ginsberg and Dane DeHaan as the homicidal Lucien Carr. The film was among the selections at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

Film fans, if you haven't done so already, we invite you to check out our TIFF microsite. Jian cut through the chaos of the festival to bring you intimate, long-form interviews with the people who make the movie magic.
