Is sex addiction real? A Q Modern Love series debate
Today marks the launch of Q's Modern Love series -- a look at what's next in sex and relationships. Over the course of the series we'll convene debates on marriage, monogamy, and much more, all culminating on Valentine's Day.
We kick off with a debate on sex addiction. The term is increasingly popular, and one study estimates that more than 9 million North Americans could be sex addicts. But, "sex addiction" remains a controversial category, with serious disagreement in the scientific, medical and treatment communities over whether sex addiction even exists.
Hear sex addiction expert Robert Weiss debate that question with clinical psychologist and author Dr. David Ley below. And have your say: Do you think "sex addiction" is a cultural myth or a true addiction?
