Q vault: Kate Bush explains why she stopped touring in 1979

From the Best of Q, Jian speaks with massively influential British musician Kate Bush. The singer-songwriter is currently putting on her first full live show in 35 years. With this unexpected cultural event in mind, we're bringing a gem out of the Q vault.

In 2011, Bush joined Jian for a rare, candid interview about her 10th studio album, 50 Words for Snow. In it, she speaks openly about why she stopped touring in 1979.

"You know, really, I'd been making albums consistently from quite a young age, I thought it was time to take a break," she said. "That was important to me because I wanted to get a balance."
