On a difficult day last month, the CBC announced the layoffs of 657 staff members and a $130 million cut to CBC/Radio Canada's budget. On the heels of that announcement, Jian dedicated a deeply-felt opening essay to the legacy and value of the CBC, and asked supporters of public broadcasting to make their feelings known.


Today, he follows with observations about the impacts we're already seeing -- including the departure of some of our finest reporters: Linden McIntyre, Alison Smith, Nancy Wilson, and many more that work behind the scenes.
