Q essay: Is Comic Sans not your type?


In today's Q essay, Jian muses about the much-maligned font Comic Sans and efforts by an Australian designer to revamp the typeface as a cleaner, more dignified "Comic Neue."

"So ridiculed by font purists, it's sure got staying power, going mobile, even used by the Vatican and the folks by the Large Hadron Collider," he says.

But, Jian asks, who will stick up for the "world's most hated font...in all its chunky, unreadable glory?"
