From the Best of Q, Michael C. Hall joins Jian to discuss whether his role as a fictional murderer in Dexter helped him play a sympathetic victim in Kill Your Darlings. The latter project -- a film that also features Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan -- is a vivid portrait of the writers who made up the real-life Beat generation.

Hall also explains how death has been a constant in his real life, and what we can all learn from our shadow side.

Kill Your Darlings is in U.S. theatres now, and opens in several Canadian cities (including Toronto and Montreal) this week.

The original show aired September 18, 2013
