It has been a couple weeks now since Emily Yoffe's article in Slate magazine -- "College Women: Stop Getting Drunk" -- sparked a fervent backlash. In it, she argues that sexual assaults on campus are closely related to the culture of binge drinking.

While the author makes it clear that perpetrators are the ones responsible for committing their crimes, she argues we are failing to warn young women that, "when they render themselves defenseless, terrible things can be done to them."


Yoffe's piece spurred a tidal wave of response pieces that challenged the tone, focus and even premise of her original article. For instance:
