Many bands rise with the guidance of a major label but today's Friday Live guests, The Sounds, have been fiercely independent from the start. The Swedish indie rockers blend the best of new-wave, pop and punk rock into a sound uniquely their own.

The Sounds perform from their brand new record Weekend throughout the show. They also join Jian to discuss their love of the road, their inimitable chemistry and how they feel about the media's fascination with their frontwoman.
