Rap Genius will school you

The creators of Rap Genius have visualized their niche in a Venn diagram (Rap Genius)

Like brilliant English teachers that make sense of Shakespeare, the wordsmiths that run Rap Genius want to help you keep up. A community of artists and volunteer annotators are parsing the words of artists like Nas, Kid Cudi and Big Sean, and explaining the poetry in rap, R&B and soul lyrics.

Their insights earn them online followings, official "Rap IQ" as well as some straight up cred. The Rap Genius co-founders join Jian to discuss their plans to grow their already popular site, its acclaimed and anonymous members, and how they respond to critics who say they're translating black culture for white people.
