After a week of passionate debate, the winner of Canada Reads 2013: Turf Wars has been crowned.
Lisa Moore's book February received the most votes in a very timely victory; her book tells the story of a widow's grief in the wake of the 1982 Ocean Ranger oil rig disaster off the coast of Newfoundland, which happened 31 years ago today. Lisa Moore and her Canada Reads advocate, comedian Trent McClellan, stopped by studio Q to discuss the power of February.
Plus, in his opening essay, Jian reflects on the power of literature to tell our stories and to inspire real debate about who we are as Canadians.
